Unbelievable week of marathons for the crew. Eve Unbelievable week of marathons for the crew. Everyone was brilliant, congrats to the whole team, the dream week. Among many great performances - Marina Wong, training online while based in Serbia. She is the epitome of the fuss free athlete, powering her way to 2.42 at London Marathon to complete her World Marathon Majors collection. Antonio Herrera in Boston joined us hoping to break 3.30, next minute 2:51 😮 Lexy Gilmour 2:54 takes the win at Newcastle Marathon, what an outstanding athlete with top performances from 800m to marathon. If all goes well, she'll get 8kms further in a couple of weeks. Yu Hin Wa at Manchester is a machine, he always gives his full effort, 2:28 again, and a breakthrough is on the horizon. Boyes will be Boyes. 3rd in Australia! At just 1 Boyes will be Boyes. 3rd in Australia! At just 19 and in his first year in the open ranks, @lukeboyes_ has had a remarkable season, culminating with a Bronze at the Australian Open Championships. Coming into the season, Luke was a 1:50 800m runner, but we knew there were some big PBs coming. Luke finished the season as a 1:46 800m/47.5 400m runner and National Bronze Medallist. At the risk of sounding too cliche - we’re just getting started. Luke showed race awareness and tactical nous beyond his level of experience to win his heat, win his semi, and be in a position to win the whole damn thing with 100m to go. @rileymcgown and @lachieraper were too good down the straight, but we look forward to plenty more great 800m races with this current crop of athletes. A man who definitely deserves a post of his own is A man who definitely deserves a post of his own is @lankyjagger - finishing the season with PBs over 3000 (8:33), 1500 (3:49) and most impressively the 800 (1:49.17) to place 7th in the Open Australian Championships. Ben entered the championships ranked 12th, but was never intimidated and navigated the three rounds tremendously. At 6 feet and 5 inches (with a huge back-kick), a tightly bunched pack often isn’t the best place for Ben to be, so he decided to make the race hard from gun and led it for the first 500m, hanging tough to the end and being rewarded with a PB in a Championship Final. We often say that consistency is key, and since joining us in 2021 Ben has been a constant at the Blue Mountains sessions, week in and week out. A great Australian Championships campaign from @ci A great Australian Championships campaign from @ciaranrushton in Brisbane, bringing home gold in the U20 5000m in a PB of 14:33 and silver in the 3000m, within 1 sec of his PB. Ciaran continues to impress both on and off the track and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for this young man. *Note for future commentators, Ciaran is pronounced the same as Kieran. 📸 @fred_etter
The trail team is lit 🔥 @kunanyimountainrun A The trail team is lit 🔥 @kunanyimountainrun Australian Ultra Mountain running champs @jassargeant 🥈with a huge step up, almost 4 hours longer than her previous longest race, 8th at UTA 50km in 2021. Unphased by the 9 hours duration, Jasmine made up a whopping 10 minutes late in the race to draw level with Sarah Ludowici. But Sarah was too strong in the end, pulling away for a well-deserved Australian title. @megatron_brown 🥉is all class, and she just keeps on getting better. A team mate with Jasmine at World Mountain Running Champs, she certainly showed her value as a great teammate as always, working well with young gun Jasmine. Noosa Ultra Trail 80km Carol Robertson 🥇has gone next level, smashing her own course record by 23min. @theactivewalker at Mount Canobolas has made a great recovery from knee surgery. @lachy_bryant makes his trail debut with a win at Sydney Trail Series 30km. @gerardriordan at Kunanyi continues to load the missile - If you run well here, you are a true mountain runner 📷 @mulletcocktail

She races on the track, road, cross country, and soon to step on the trails. A great day for the crew out at the Ridgey Didge T A great day for the crew out at the Ridgey Didge Trail festival, near Lithgow. Tough trails and epic scenery welcomed runners across a number of different events. We had a small but mighty group from our Blue Mountains crew head out for the event, with some impressive runs: - Young gun Elijah Gosby was 1st overall in the 13k. - Mike Ljubic equal first in the 22k. - Steve Bushby 2nd in the 50k. A great new event on the calendar, thanks to Tony from @bluemountainsfitness for giving runners another awesome option in the Blue Mtns and surrounds.

Australian team 6th, alongside team mates, Archie Noakes, Bailey Habler, Cael Mulholland, Jack Coomber, and Logan Janetzki Ciaran joined just over 2 years ago on the recommendation of his school coaches. It was pretty obvious from Day 1 that we'd hit the jackpot. He's displayed a high work ethic, and he is extremely coachable and committed. @taraweraultramarathon Incredible day for our te @taraweraultramarathon Incredible day for our team competing hard in the stinky forest. We can't call it the dream day. Nobody dreams of 4th. But all our runners gave themselves every chance to perform the best they could on the day. All of them are so impressive on many levels. It's great to see the strength in men's and women's races in all the ultra marathons at Tarawera - a proper contest. The top 5 women in the 102km were within minutes of each other with 5kms to go, we live for this, all were only separated by 11 minutes at the finish. This sport needs depth to drive performance, and this growth is a sure sign that ultra running is booming. Some great performances at the 2024 Zatopek meet in Melbourne, always a highlight of Australian distance running and an exciting night for our athletes to be involved in. At just 20 years of age, @bronteoates looked right at home amongst Australia’s top 10k runners and showed great potential in the 25 lapper finishing in 6th place (1st U23) in 32:54. At just 16, @lucaschis_ was an impressive 2nd place in the DeCastella u/20 3k - running a new Vic u/17 record of 8:13.91 (breaking Mike Power’s record from 1992). @tom__march ran a huge PB of 8:04 in a stacked 3k, with @sharp__jackson (now with @naz_elite but always part of the crew) running a 7:59.@elijahgosby was 6th in Australia in the u/17 boys 3k with a PB. @coophillips (also just 16 yo) and @cam.burnett05 were strong in the u/20 B race, running 8:27 and 8:39 respectively.We’re eager to see what is ahead for these athletes for the remainder of the season, and in the years ahead.📸 @insideaths @benny_saintgram @garyhoward800 @katielynne_4 ... Niamh Allen 🇮🇪 11th European XC Championships 🇹🇷After a 5 hour drive across the country with 11 week old Lily, she finished 2nd at the Irish XC Championships and was then selected to represent Ireland at European XC Championships.With a lot of support from her mum and Athletics Ireland, the trip to Antalya, Turkey, became logistically manageable. In typical Niamh fashion, she embraced the adventure and raced fearlessly. She rapidly moved through the field from 50th early to finish in 11th place. 14 weeks post partum and 3 years from 5,000m 17.19 to 11th in Europe - 5sec per km behind Nadia Batocletti, the Paris Olympic 10,000m Silver Medalist. Australian Primary School Championships 2024Dream team - had fun, made friends. Jiselle Bechara (NSW) 1500m 🥈pb, 800m 🥉3sec pb. Raced with poise and her usual superhuman effort. Keep adding to the toolbox. Alex Miller (NSW) 1500m 🥈8sec pb. He stayed close enough to call on a big kick with 200m to go. He drew level with the leader at 1450m, but James had one last surge, a thrilling race 0.3sec the difference. Molly Currie (NSW) 800m 🥈3sec pb. Ran the perfect race, strong and tough, clever run from a future star. Scout Koernig (NSW) 1500m 🥉9sec pb. Positioned perfectly, she raced with confidence, winning a huge battle for bronze.Gracie Sheridan (SA) 1500 9sec pb. She stayed composed, working her way through the field brilliantly, then backed up for an 800 pb. Georgi Seels-Wood (QLD) fought for every inch, missing the 800m final by one spot.
